Here's what you'd do:
  • Under the direction of the Production Shop Supervisor, the Gear Technician services aircraft landing gear components through troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and parts replacement at the component/depot level using manuals and other data. This position requires strong mechanical ability and great attention to detail. A Gear Technician must be willing to accomplish both repetitive and unfamiliar tasks on a regular basis with the use of aviation repair manuals.
  • Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs of components such as landing gear and related components.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Measure parts for wear, using precision instruments.
  • Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Modify aircraft structures, space vehicles, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Orders parts and requests vendor repair work to be accomplished.
  • Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Here's what you'll get:
Pay: $18/hour
Two shifts available:
  • 1st Shift: M-F, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: M-F 3:30 PM-12:00 AM (Train on 1st shift prior to moving to 2nd shift)
  • OT often required for all shifts, sometimes on Saturdays
Length: Temp to direct

Job Requirements
Here's what you'll need:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an auto, marine, or industrial maintenance mechanic/technician
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers or calipers

Additional Information:
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - safety glasses and closed-toe shoes required for all shop areas
