Overview:

The Senior Facilities Technician is responsible for managing the maintenance of assigned Veeco buildings and building-related equipment, security and fire protection systems, including the daily maintenance of environmental health and safety standards, to support the protection of site employees, buildings, assets, and the local environment. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Real Estate/EHS, responsibilities will be carried out in collaboration with all internal functions - Operations, Engineering, Finance, Product Management, and external stakeholders - local, state, and federal agencies, as appropriate. This position has a high degree of autonomy and must operate in a complex environment. It requires an understanding of the strategic mission, goals, and objectives of a technology-based company.

Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the overall preventive, corrective, routine and emergency maintenance of assigned facilities, mechanical systems, and EH&S equipment.
  • Ensure that all facilities are operated in compliance with all local and federal regulations.
  • Work with management to develop capital plans for equipment replacement and/or addition of new equipment and take the lead in executing capital project execution.
  • Provide oversight of site emergency response operations and emergency communications, including training, equipment maintenance and compliance records.
  • Provide guidance and input to departments regarding compliance with government environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Sustain and improve the performance of R&D and factory Operations safety, hazardous waste removal, and site sustainability.
  • Act as point person for facilities emergency planningand crisis management events resulting from service interruptions, natural disasters, or weather-related emergencies.
  • Provide oversight, schedule, coordinate, and perform maintenance and repair of HVAC, RODI system, fire detection and suppression system, plumbing, electrical, process gases, compressed air systems and building security, including CCTV and card access.
  • Engage withlandlordand manage subcontractors and service providers, ensuring that business disruptions are prevented and that operations run efficiently.
  • Oversee facility modifications, including obtaining estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs and requirements (e.g., permitting).
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Candidates with High School diploma or GED and minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in Facilities Maintenance or similar work experience will also be considered..

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledgeofbuilding codes and safety regulations is required.
  • Hands-on basic maintenance and repair skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills, decision-making skills and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office application is required.
  • Project management skills are highly preferred.



The expected salary range for this position is $54,948.00 - $69,600.80 plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
