Description

The Lipscomb University College of Health Sciences seeks a qualified professional to design and facilitate student learning programs in the College's Simulation Center. Work alongside faculty members to create realistic and challenging learning opportunities for students in Nursing, Dietetic Internship, Physician Assistant, and Cardiovascular Perfusion programs, as well as students in the College of Pharmacy, with more programs to come.



  • Professional qualifications:

    • Licensed healthcare professional preferred;

      • Master's or terminal degree preferred


    • Knowledge of and experience with healthcare simulation;
    • CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) certification highly preferred
    • Familiarity with Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) protocols
    • Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
    • Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, with an emphasis on Interprofessional Education and Practice


  • Role and Responsibilities

    • This individual will report directly to the Dean of the College of Health Sciences while working closely with Directors and Chairs of the Health Sciences schools and programs, and other faculty members, in order to:

      • Develop, implement, and evaluate student learning activities within the Center
      • Review outcomes data with faculty to ensure that simulations support didactic instruction and clinical learning targets
      • Provide oversight of Center scheduling and use
      • Implement standard procedures for the Center

        • Maintain inventory of materials
        • Arrange for maintenance and repair of mannequins and other equipment
        • Oversee faculty, staff, students, and student workers in ensuring appropriate cleaning and maintenance protocols are followed

        • Implement policies and procedures for student and faculty use of materials and equipment





      • Assist with delivery of faculty and staff development related to simulation education



      • Participate in technical training and/or professional development as necessary to stay current with simulation technology and methodology


      • Work with the Dean to effectively manage the Center budget

      • Explore innovative ways to develop mutually beneficial partnerships, including licensing agreements, joint ventures, sponsorship opportunities, and other revenue-driven models



      • Work with the Dean and other faculty to design and implement continuing education programs to serve local healthcare provider professional development needs


      • Assist with other special projects or initiatives as identified and/or needed

      • Perform other duties or responsibilities determined to be appropriate for this position



      • Comply with all policies, procedures, regulations, and other communicated requirements











    Qualifications
    Experience
    Licensed healthcare professional highly preferred (nurse, physician assistant, pharmacy or other health profession). Knowledge and experience with healthcare simulations will be essential. (preferred)
