JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Vice President, Education Operations is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for educational business and administrative functions within Academic Affairs. This role entails planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing education operations in partnership with academic leadership. It ensures the development and implementation of processes, systems, and objectives in collaboration with academic departments and business offices across the institution. This position provides guidance and support to executive leadership to ensure efficiency and compliance as required by applicable laws, regulations, ACGME, and University policies. JOB DUTIES
- Lead strategic, operational and administrative initiatives essential to the educational operations within Academic Affairs.
- Assist the Vice Provost and Senior Associate Dean for Education in strategy development and operational implementation.
- Resolve education-related operational issues raised by Deans, Associate and Assistant Deans, and business leaders across all schools on an as needed basis.
- Provide direct oversight of operational, financial and administrative support functions by providing leadership in the areas of Graduate Medical Education, UT Southwestern Simulation Center, Financial Aid, Student Life, Student Services - Finance, Bryan Williams, M.D. Student Center, Continuing Medical Education, and the Central Room Scheduling.
- Supports the Vice Provost and Senior Associate Dean for Education by providing strategic and operational guidance in the following areas: Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Registrar's Office, Library Services, Admissions and Recruitment, Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment and Accreditation, and Student Affairs.
- Partner with academic leadership to monitor and maintain academic accreditation.
- Provide oversight and recommendations for tuition and fee billing and guidelines. Partner with the Director, Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment and Accreditation and the Director, Provost Finance to maximize funding to support the educational mission.
- Manage Medical Park Apartments in partnership with Financial Affairs monitoring rental rates and policy changes and reviewing market changes impacting the UT Southwestern student population.
- Partner with the Assistant Vice President of Research and Academic Systems on the management of educational systems and the implementation of technologic solutions.
- Lead Central Room Scheduling team to provide oversight of scheduling, renovation and prioritization of all classroom space in partnership with institutional leadership from across all schools.
- Partner in the preparation and maintenance of academic reports for internal and external agencies in partnership with Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment and Accreditation and Provost Operations.
- Partner with the Provost Operations to develop business analysis and strategic plans for the implementation of new educational programs.
- Oversee and manage special projects as needed by the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer - Academic Affairs and Medical Group and Vice Provost and Senior Associate Dean for Education.
