Post Doctoral.Post Doctoral.Associate Med-Pharmacology and Chemical Biology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - ( 24007676 ) Postdoctoral positions investigating the role of genome maintenance pathways in cancer therapy are in the laboratory of Dr. Orlando Scharer, which is in the process of relocating to the University of Pittsburgh. Available projects involve the study of the molecular mechanisms of human DNA repair pathways and the influence of DNA repair activity in tumors on anticancer therapy. For two representative recent publications, please see Kim et al., PNAS, 2022, 119, e2207408119 and Son et al., Nat Commun, 2024, 13, 1338. This position provides the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge fundamental cancer research in an outstanding scientific environment. Successful applicants will have experience in one or more of the following areas: Protein biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, organic and bioanalytical chemistry. In addition, candidates should have excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. The salary is commensurate with experience and is based on current NIH guidelines.
