Reimagine What's Possible

The OSC is responsible for providing remote operations support and service to a network of 13 Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) plants and 8 satellite units.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Ensure the safe operation of plants within design limits through knowledge of and adherence to safe work practices and operating procedures.
  • Actively participate in the team's Basic Safety Process (BSP), including leading emergency drills, what-if exercises, and system audits as required.
  • Adjust plant parameters in response to alarms and plant monitoring tools to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the plants supported by the OSC.
  • Lead or support troubleshooting of undesired operation, either directly or in conjunction with the local team.
  • Provide occasional on-site operations support for plant start-up, maintenance, and shut down activities.
  • Executing the alarm management program, including responding to all plant alarms and handling them in a professional way.
  • Starting/stopping the plants remotely in a safe manner as dictated by operating conditions and business needs.
  • Completing detailed plant logs to track any actions performed on the plant by the OSC operator.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following:

  • Demonstrated track record of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) success.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and leadership of Operational Discipline including adherence to procedures, effective change management, and understanding of safe operating limits.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operating systems, including an ability to take a complicated process, logically break it down into smaller subsets, identify the problem, and identify solutions.
  • Must work well in a collaborative, team environment. Must be open-minded, demonstrate respect toward others, and have an inclusive attitude.
  • Must be hard-working with a desire and ability to learn the workings of a complex set of plants with different technologies.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant plant operations experience. Experience with operation of Hydrogen plants is preferred.
  • An Associate Degree in a technical field is a plus but not required.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including ability to operate Microsoft Office and SAP applications.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment, including ability to: climb ladders and steps, work from elevation, lift up to 50 pounds, make entry into confined spaces, and work in high noise environments.
  • Must be willing to work 12-hr rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be willing to be on call.
  • This position may require travel to plant sites in the U.S. and Canada for operations and maintenance support.
