Position Overview
A lecturer in the School of Social Welfare serves in a part-time capacity with responsibility teaching content, primarily in-person at the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus, in one of the school's curriculum areas: social work practice, social welfare policy, human behavior, research, race/social justice, or an elective in the area of the individual's expertise. Classes are taught to students enrolled at the MSW degree level. Amount of work required can vary by position and will range from .20 FTE to 1.0 FTE.
Applicants will be reviewed and considered for teaching positions as needs arise. Applicants will be accepted throughout the year. The successful applicant must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Teach in MSW program in content areas of social work practice, social welfare policy, human growth and behavior, research, or electives at the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus in blended (half online/half in the classroom) or traditional classroom formats. This includes:
Required Qualifications For teaching clinical practice classes: MSW from an accredited program with at least five years post-MSW experience.
For teaching ALL classes: Previous work experience that required the ability to conceptualize the curriculum area. Previous work experience that required the ability to organize multiple tasks. Strong communication skills as demonstrated in application materials and interview. A commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive educational environment for all students.
