General Information:

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for an Adult Health Tenure Track, 10-month full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor that will begin in August 2025. The School of Nursing (SON) offers CCNE accredited Baccalaureate, Master's, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. The responsibilities of this position will focus on undergraduate nursing program needs in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings; service; and scholarship.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teach courses in our undergraduate nursing curriculum in the classroom, laboratory, simulation, and practicum settings.
* Serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate nursing students.
* Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional, community and/or university service.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Doctorate in Nursing or related discipline. Candidates in the final stages of project/dissertation defense will be considered with evidence of continued progress and completion of degree required within 6 months of the start date.
* Graduate degree in Nursing.
* Experience with adult health nursing in an acute care setting.
* Current, unencumbered RN license in the United States and eligibility for a Virginia nursing license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Three years of recent, relevant practice experience.
* Teaching experience in undergraduate nursing.
* Practice experience in geriatric subacute care.
* Evidence of scholarly activity through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or creative works.
