Summary of Job Duties:1.Determine academic, transfer and support needs of participants.
2. Develop an academic and social support plan and monitor academic progress.
3. Provide academic advising, counseling, and make referrals.
4. Coordinate transfer information and trips to four year institutions.
5. Organize, schedule and/or teach academic, and social related workshops and events.
6. Attend seminars, training, state and regional meetings, workshops and conferences.
7. Select participants based on criteria.
8. Coordinate scholarship information.
9. Provide assistance in completing financial aid applications.
10. Provide financial and economic literacy information to participants.
11. Prepare and monitor records and reports using Blumen database and Net Tutoring.
12. Supervise and coordinate all aspects of academic tutoring.
13. Assist the Director with all functions of the project.
14. Supervise the TRiO Student Success Club.
15. Plan, monitor and supervise participants to attend multi-cultural events on campus and in the community.
16. Assist with the implementation of the RERAIL program.
17. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor Degree is required and a Master's Degree is preferred.

2. Degrees and studies in education, administration, counseling, college student personnel services, or a related field is required.

3. A minimum of one year of experience in higher education with direct work experience with disadvantaged and diverse student populations;

4. Experience in planning and executing developmental programs. Strong written and oral communication skills.

5. Background similar to students served or experience in dealing with disadvantaged students

6. Experience in counseling, testing/assessment preferred.

7. Experience or knowledge of scheduling classes, monitoring transcripts, and degree planning.

Additional Information:

Special Requirements Some evening hours and work extended hours during special events Transport participants to the four year campuses, workshops, and conferences. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Database software

Provide personal payment for National Fair Share, and State and Regional memberships dues

Plan, supervise and attend TRIO Day.

Salary Information:

$35,000.00
