Job Summary

Work Shift

1 - First Shift Are you the type of person who thrives on using your innovative skills to tackle technical challenges for other people? In this role you will design, construct, or repair modular, prototype, and production tooling & fixtures. We're looking for the initiative to execute on expectations with a commitment to create quality solutions for our production team.

What You'll Do

1. Design and build tooling for current and new production needs using 3D modeling, machining, welding, and assembly processes while also repairing tooling damaged in production areas.

2. Study prints to determine tooling and customer needs, plan layouts, and assembly of tooling.

3. Interact and effectively communicate with personnel responsible for fixture design, manufacturing equipment programming, welding, and product engineering.

4. Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability in resolving problems arising during the validation process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements.

5. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or solid models and confer with management or engineering staff to resolve quality and manufacturing issues.

6. Review and/or interpret CMM reports and make updates to fixtures if needed based off data.

What We're Looking For

- High School diploma required.

- Associate's degree from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program in design technology, computer science, industrial systems technology, or related field is preferred.

- Minimum three years of mechanical, agricultural, or technician experience and/or job training; and/or combination of education and experience required.

- Successful completion of Vermeer's weld or machining training.

- Successful completion of Basic Hydraulics Safety and Introduction to Hydraulics.

- Understanding and experience in installation of pneumatic clamping.

- Ability to design and build machining, manual welding, and robotic fixtures.

- Ability to design and manage multiple projects with on time delivery.

- Basic knowledge of GD&T symbols and application.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
