Technical Writer

Description:

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance.

Rate: $30 - $40 / hr. w2

Hybrid with 2 days/week in Washington D.C.

• Research, write, and edit materials for IT processes, plans, procedures, and documentation.
• Obtain technical data through independent observation and collaboration with technical staff.
• Interface with users, specialists, analysts, and programmers to gather background information.
• Revise text and recommend changes to ensure conformance with established standards.
• Perform final quality assurance on all materials.

• 6 years of experience in writing and editing documents.
• 1-2 years of experience creating/editing IT project lifecycle documentation.
• Ability to facilitate discussions related to IT service management and business processes.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and responsible.

Key Technical Skills:

• Writing and editing technical documents

• Proficiency in Office 365
• Ability to create/edit Visio workflows

• Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, or a related discipline
• ITIL Foundations v3 or 4 preferred
