Overview The Nationwide Children?s Hospital Behavioral Health Clinical Manager is responsible for the coordination of clinical services and related administrative activities on the multidisciplinary team to achieve the most effective, efficient, and culturally relevant service delivery to children and families. Further, the Manager is responsible for quality assurance, compliance, financial oversight, training, staff development, and customer relationships on behalf of the program team. Responsibilities 1. Provides overall leadership to the clinical staff. Works in alignment with the teams Psychiatry lead on relevant team activities and decisions. 2. Recruits, hires and retains qualified clinical staff. 3. Provides and coordinates supervision to staff. 4. Assures staff and program compliance to quality assurance standards and identified quality indicators including competent and timely completion of diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and outcome measures as well as other supportive documentation required for billing or clinical purposes or other external audits/reviews. Maintains department acceptable scores in reviews such as Environment of Care, Readiness Rounds and Perceptions of Care. 5. Monitors and assesses practice patterns to ensure high level of clinical expertise and positive outcomes for children and families. 6. Completes performance evaluations in collaboration with the team psychiatrist and in conjunction with the Clinical Director. 7. Assures completion of Human Resources related activities for staff and, as applicable, in conjunction with Clinical Director. 8. Initiates supportive and corrective disciplinary actions per Administrative Personnel Guidelines in collaboration with the Clinical Director. 9. Maintains familiarity with the research literature in areas of expertise and supports research activities relevant to clinical services. 10. Recommends program developments and new clinical interventions, and participates in the implementation of new services which are responsive to the needs of the population served. 11. Identifies and responds to staff developmental needs through supervision, provision of formal and informal training, and approval of attendance at external and internal trainings and conferences. 12. Provides effective assessment and treatment interventions to children and families. 13. Responds to the customer service concerns of the team, including, but not limited to, concerns expressed by clients and families. Assures appropriate concerns are documented into CS Stars and completes the Review section. Identifies trends, compliance issues and possible media situations to Clinical Director and/or other Administrative personnel. 14. Monitors the overall program budget through approving and managing costs and assuring that clinical productivity expectations are met. 15. Reports clinical and administrative outcomes to department administration. Joins with administration in creating and implementing practices that result in acceptable results. 16. Responds to ongoing daily operational demands by maintaining adequate staffing levels and providing on-call or back up for on-call crisis and urgent services. 17. Works routinely and collaboratively with BH Operations Coordinators and, if applicable, Site Managers. The CC will be responsive to the on-site operations staff with regard to clinical and team issues. 18. Assures the timely access of care through referral management and case assignment. 19. Assesses and establishes working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers that support our program implementation and overall hospital mission. 20. Provides external trainings as requested or identified in specific contractual agreements. 21. Monitors contract compliance with specific funding sources and/or payors and provides reports as requested by such payors. 22. Meets regularly with staff and attends departmental meetings at the direction of the Clinical Director. 23. Acts on behalf of the Clinical Director as requested. 24. Supports Behavioral Health guiding principles of service delivery and the mission, goals and philosophy of NCH. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. Masters or doctoral degree from an accredited university or professional school. 2. Appropriate Ohio Independent licensure with Supervisor designation if available. 3. Two or more years of experience as a clinical supervisor or coordinator in an organization providing behavioral health services. 4. Five or more years of experience as a provider of behavioral health services. 5. Demonstrated skills in providing assessment and treatment to children and adolescents. 6. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and lead staff, as well as to represent the agency to and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. 7. Ability to work well with minimal direction, is detail-oriented and self-motivated. 8. Ability to use sound judgment and interpret policy. 9. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. 10. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive and collaborative multi-disciplinary relationships.
