THE ROLE: Director

Job Summary:

The Director, Project Management - Modern Platforms leads our team of Project Managers focused on Cloud Migration, Data Center, Data Protection, Virtualization, and DevOps projects. This leader is responsible for developing the individual team members and the practice-specific standard operating procedures within Presidio's Engagement Delivery framework to ensure Presidio delivers projects of the highest quality the meeting or exceed client expectations.

Travel Requirements:

In this role you will be expected to travel up to 10%.

Major Responsibilities:



  • Partner closely with our Presales and Sales teams to understand client objectives for all Projects the team manages to ensure success
  • Recruit, develop, improve, and maintain project management teams and the processes to
    successfully meet and exceed the team's goals.
  • Design and execute standardized methodologies for establishing strategic initiatives and delivering committed outcome. Modify and/or extend methodologies to align with all new Practice Service offerings as they are developed.
  • Work closely with Delivery Operations to ensure projects are staffed with a Project Manager that has the skills and experience required by the project, and the interpersonal skills required by the Client.
  • Analyzes team utilization levels and works with Delivery Operations, Sales, and Presales to maintain those levels consistently.
  • Work with sales management and clients to continuously improve our delivery model for Cloud Migration, Data Center, Data Protection, and Virtualization engagements
  • Communicate with Practice leadership to review the active project portfolio, report on issues, and manage any Client escalations.
  • Personally engage with key customers and accounts to establish relationships with senior and
    executive management.
  • Provide process and procedural training and education to sales and other areas of the company
    as needed.


Technology/Area of Specialization:



  • Experience with the Project Management fundamentals of both traditional Data Center Projects and Cloud Migration projects a plus.
  • Ensure all project plans are created appropriately for each project, based on the size and complexity requirements, and that project plans are consistently maintained for accuracy.
  • Establish metrics and targets for the team and be accountable for the achievement of those metrics and targets
  • Develop standard "dashboard" or "score card" to summarize project Budget, Schedule, Scope, and CSAT metrics
  • Review and Improve tools and platforms that support project managers including, but not limited to, project plan platforms, document repositories, pricing guidelines, and QA tools.
  • Prepare dashboards, data, and presentations for periodic executive communications based on the disciplined analysis.


Basic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Proficiency in the English language and reading comprehension.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Presidio project management processes in general, and those for Data Center and Cloud Projects in particular, to include terminology, typical project phases, workflows, challenges, and success criteria
  • Proven ability to successfully partner with and be of service to sellers and sales leadership for mutual success, with a thorough understanding of a typical seller's challenges and priorities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with a strong service orientation focus.
  • Effective interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • Strong time management to manage one's own time effectively and efficiently.
  • The ability to effectively instruct others on how to complete a task or activity.
  • Ability to solve problems using inductive and deductive reasoning.
  • Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to sense and forecast problem areas.

    skills.

Required Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Project Management Leadership
  • 5+ years of relevant, hands-on experience with IT project management
  • Demonstrated success working with large enterprise customers
