Description

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan is currently hiring a Senior Service Coordinators to serve in our impactful Family Self Sufficiency Program.

FSS is employment-focused, our team works with low-income families , including section 8 tenants to increase their earnings. We do an assessment and develop an action plan , our team works to improve participant education, credit , find resources for health and dental care.

This is a full time benefit eligible role.

As the principal front-line staff responsible for implementation, FSS program coordinators are the backbone of the FSS program. FSS coordinators coach program participants, conduct needs assessments, provide referrals to services and trainings, and help participants stay on track to achieve their goals. FSS coordinators also maintain program records, build partnerships with service providers, report on program outcomes, and perform other tasks as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Implement the FSS program as required by 24 CFR 984
  • Create, maintain, and update FSS Action Plan
  • Create and implement an outreach plan and enroll FSS participant families, maintaining at least the minimum number to be served per this NOFO award (25 families for 1 FSS coordinator position)
  • Ensure that an Individual Training and Services Plan (ITSP) is prepared for head of FSS family and each adult member of the FSS family who elects to participate
  • Build partnerships with employers and service providers in the community and work with the Program Coordinating Committee (PCC) and with local service providers to ensure that FSS program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
  • May also perform job development functions (e.g., outreach to potential employers)
  • Encouraged to ensure that participants have greater access to financial education/literacy/empowerment/coaching programs that will help them acquire the knowledge and skills to make informed and effective decisions that ultimately help them reach their goals and achieve self-sufficiency and financial stability.
  • Ensure that services and supports included in the participants' Contracts of Participation are provided on a regular, ongoing and satisfactory basis; participants are fulfilling their responsibilities under the Contracts; and FSS escrow accounts are established, and property maintained for eligible families.
  • Monitor the progress of participants, promote opportunities for them to increase their income and address and eliminate barriers to advancement and graduation
  • Oversee the account of forfeited escrow funds in accord with 24 CFR 984.305(f)(2)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



  • A degree in social work or a related field such as psychology
  • Employment experience related to subsidized housing/multifamily housing and the FSS program is beneficial
  • Prior experience in case management, motivational interviewing, or coaching preferred
  • Knowledge of pertinent HUD regulations on the FSS program, as well as the resources available through local agencies is beneficial
  • Must be comfortable working with low-income families and diverse populations

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

The incumbent of this position must have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.

TRAVEL: Day to day travel in the community or between sites may be required with some travel within the state for agency meetings, networking and training with external agencies. May include occasional overnight stays.
