The Role

Joining Balfour Beatty as a Superintendent in our Atlanta Special Projects Group you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects assigned to you. You will direct and supervise activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed with quality, profitable, adhering to our Safety/Zero Harm culture.

Essential Functions



  • Field Leadership: Manage all daily site operations including supervision of subcontractors, coordination of construction activities, enforcement of safety protocols, and execution of the project schedule.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed look-ahead schedules; drive progress to meet critical milestones and proactively resolve conflicts and delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is performed to high standards, in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and owner requirements.
  • Safety Oversight: Enforce site safety policies and maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and client representatives to maintain alignment and ensure clear communication.
  • Inspections & Reporting: Coordinate with local authorities for inspections and approvals; maintain daily logs, safety documentation, and progress reports.


What you will need



  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial construction field leadership with experience managing complex interior renovation, or adaptive reuse projects in commercial or institutional setting highly desirable.
  • Proven experience leading small ground to medium ground up commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (MEP), finishes, and sequencing of renovation work.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.).
