Job Summary:

The Tax Senior position requires technical knowledge, communication and organizational skills. A tax senior prepares, maintains, and analyzes domestic and/or international tax information used in the preparation of municipal, state and federal tax returns and financial statement tax provisions. The Tax Senior will play an active role and must be able to communicate with internal management and external tax providers.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual U.S. and foreign tax provisions prepared by external tax advisors in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Prepares tax calculations to facilitate the preparation of federal, state, and municipal income and franchise tax returns, extensions and estimated tax payments by external tax provider
  • Review corporate consolidated state and federal income tax returns prepared by external tax advisors.
  • Assist with the filing of annual reports.
  • Perform research on federal, state, jurisdictional, and regulatory tax issues.
  • Assist with federal and state audits from various tax jurisdictions.
  • Prepare or review monthly tax journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepare data and assist with the filing of business license renewals.
  • Calculate impact of global transfer pricing model.
  • Provide any other needed support and assistance on special projects, including state tax credit programs.
  • Communicate with external tax advisors for multiple tax filings including:

    • Monthly domestic sales tax and telecommunications tax returns
    • Annual property tax filings
    • Foreign VAT and GST returns





Skills and Competencies:



  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, numerical, verbal, and written communication
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other departments within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure departmental deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.



Education Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:



  • 2 - 3 years of federal and multi-state corporate tax experience


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • Big Four public accounting firm experience preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Understanding of ASC 740 and US GAAP
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed



Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (4 to 8 hours).
