We are looking for aTesting Assistant (Part-Time)to join our team. As a testing assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students and ensuring the smooth operation of assessment centers. Responsibilities include administering exams, tracking distance learning exams, completing data entry, virtually proctoring exams, and interacting with students, faculty, and staff. Flexibility, effective communication, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, coupled with previous testing responsibilities and at least 1 year of documented work experience in the areas of customer service and/or education. JOB SUMMARY:

The Assessment Center Testing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting students and ensuring the smooth operation of assessment centers. Responsibilities include administering exams, tracking distance learning exams, completing data entry, virtually proctoring exams, and interacting with students, faculty, and staff. Flexibility, effective communication, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Administering exams

  • Helping students to be successful

  • Assisting with the daily responsibilities in Assessment Centers

  • Demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse student population

  • Consistently demonstrating sound professional judgment relative to individual students

  • Accurately answering questions both in person and on the telephone

  • Using technology to administer exams

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Administering exams

  • Tracking distance learning exams

  • Completing data entry

  • Virtually proctor exams

  • Notifying students of placement results

  • Interacting with students, IRSC administration, faculty and staff

  • Employees will be based on one of five IRSC Campuses, but must be flexible and willing to travel to alternate IRSC Campuses

  • Assisting coworkers in the testing process

  • Actively monitoring testing room

  • Must be able to work both day and evening hours during the week

  • Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Previous testing responsibilities preferred

  • One year of documented work experience in the areas of customer service and/or education

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail-oriented

  • Ability to deal with confidential reports

  • Positive student-oriented attitude

  • Ability to work with a diverse student population

  • Proper telephone etiquette

  • Technology skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
