Overview

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for providing clinical support to multiple surgeons in the Pediatric Surgery Clinic. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, diagnostic studies and clinic visits with providers.

Schedule: (Full time, Benefits Eligible, Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm)

Responsibilities

* Performs weekly follow-up phone call list for nurses and returns emails, voicemails, and EPIC messages in a timely manner.
* Triages main clinic hotline and WorkQue line
* Coordinates with the Ronald McDonald House and Welcome Center on family stays
* Gathers all necessary information for prior authorization process
* Communicates with surgeons and APNs to ensure proper procedures are in Epic and maintains open communication between all members of the patient care team.
* Schedules procedure in OP time or directly with OR scheduling staff.
* Schedules radiology tests and appointments.



Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education:

    High school graduate or equivalent

Experience:

  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with proof of auto insurance required.
  • Knowledge in PC Operation, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and able to multitask
  • Ability to learn and use OpTime, Microsoft Outlook and Epic
  • Two years previous secretarial experience in the medical office setting; surgical scheduling experience preferred along with medical terminology

Minimum Physical Requirement:

  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs. (Occasionally)
  • Sitting (Frequently)
  • Talking on the telephone and in person
  • Typing on a keyboard (Frequently)
  • Walking (Frequently)
