Job Description

The shipping and Receiving Clerk shall be responsible for, but not limited to, all receiving of inbound equipment as well as packaging and shipment/loading of all outbound equipment.

Receiving of Equipment

* Upon arrival of all equipment, a visual inspection will be done while on the freight truck with photos taken.

* Crates & boxes will be inspected for damage. If equipment is damaged, the Purchasing-Inventory Lead or Inside Sales Lead must be notified, and pictures must be taken.

* After a visual inspection is complete, offload the equipment safely using the correct equipment, according to the weight, dimensions.

* Check all paperwork with the incoming equipment to ensure you have received all pieces.

* If there is no paperwork for the equipment, a pickup sheet will be filled out by the party that is dropping off the equipment.

* All Equipment is to be tagged with the date, weight, and company name that it arrived from and placed in the incoming area.

* All paperwork will be turned into Purchasing. Purchasing will then disperse paperwork to the proper personnel.

* Performs all applicable duties in accordance with ISO procedures, if required.

Receiving of Purchased Products

* Examine for physical damage. If damaged, notify buyer/Purchasing for disposition.

* Bring to Purchasing for Receiving Inspection.

* Verify Item number matches referenced number on purchase order for accuracy and all associated documentation is included.

Shipping of Equipment

* Verify Shipment, Ship to Address, Product or Equipment being sent, and the quantity of the shipment.

* Verify the Shipping date for the equipment and delivery paperwork has been made for the shipping of the equipment.

* Verify the weight, dimension, and quantity being shipped.

* Verify that Pictures have been take of any outgoing equipment.

* Check all paperwork and the job has been completed and signed off.

* Visually inspect the equipment being shipped.

* Check all outgoing equipment against the incoming pictures to ensure all equipment is there.

* Check delivery ticket matches the equipment being shipped.

Job Requirement:

  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings - Background, MVR, Physical, Drug screen.
  • Must be able to comply with all drug and alcohol policies of Houma Armature Works and/or customer sponsored programs. Subject to random Drug and Alcohol screenings.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends, if required
  • Be available for and successfully complete all required training.
  • Be able to operate motor vehicles in compliance with all state and federal requirements, if travel required.
  • Possess valid identification.
  • Travel between Texas and Louisiana locations, if required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read, write and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to interface with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines.
  • Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Additional Job Details

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
