Summary of This Role As a Business Analyst you are responsible for supporting Product Managers in working with cross- department stakeholders, customers, as well as third parties to research, define, and document business processes or requirements for technology initiatives or new features for software products. This includes analyzing updates to industry regulatory requirements, identifying market trends, and analyzing competitor products to formulate product recommendations. You will work closely with Sales and Customer Services teams to extract business needs and gather requirements. A successful candidate will possess a natural curiosity that drives self-motivation to look beyond the obvious, produce meaningful recommendations, and high quality deliverables. You will be counted on to self-manage and prioritize your workload. You must be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders within our business unit, employees from other business units, customers, as well as third party vendors. You must enjoy spending time researching and understanding our company, customers' and prospects' problems and needs. Your research and analysis will directly influence the features that are added to our software products. As a Business Analyst, you are in a position of influence not authority therefore good collaboration skills are needed. You will be required to successfully lead discussions where differing and possibly conflicting business needs must be understood. You must enjoy the challenge of extracting the business problem that needs to be solved in conversations with customers, third parties, and internal stakeholders.
What Part Will You Play?
- Acts as a liaison between client end-users, programmers and test analysts with in-depth analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of complex systems to ensure optimal operational performance. Maintains a working relationship with key stakeholders and gains an understanding of the complex nature of the client's business. Consults with management to identify, define and document business needs/objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input/output requirements, data scope, usage formatting, security requirements and levels of systems access. Maintains communications with end-users and reviews other Business Analysts' feedback to ensure systems continually meet the client's expectations. Analyzes complex/ escalated problems/issues (complexity varies based on data requirements and business specifications) and offers alternative business solutions. Facilitates meetings and leads discussions.
- Analyzes, interprets and develops simple to complex business specifications and logical flowcharts that include features and functions from which programmers can create technical specifications. Leverages system or module knowledge in the design of system screens and database structures. Consults and coordinates with programmers to design and develop requirements and analyze the feasibility of new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users. Prepares input for system design, including final report and screen definition, logical system flow and implementation plans. Provides support to resolve issues that may cross multiple systems and affect the business process. Tracks application incidents to ensure a successful conclusion for internal and external clients. Identifies system impact of changes in the business, user needs, external business environment and operating systems.
- Leads others to document client training and documentation for installation of systems and their upgrades; universally understood procedures for permanent records; post-implementation problems and revision requests; procedures, methodology and/or application standards to include payment card industry and security related compliance. Maintains, administers, and/or reviews all procedures, methodology and/or application standards to include payment card industry and security related compliance.
- Develops, administers and recommends best practices when supporting testing/planning/validation by clarifying the intended functionality. Uses experience and expertise to ensure complex issues do not hinder a successful implementation.
- May act as a Project Manager on smaller development efforts. Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions. Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Maintains software deployment plans and communicates these plans to the user community; ensures that users are apprised of any anticipated deviation from schedules.
Research and analyze our customer consumer market using industry and solution appropriate analytic tools to identify user and behavior trends. Based on trends, make recommendations on further data to collect or analyze in our market segment. Understand and keep up to date on card brand regulatory changes and define needed software requirements in user (or system) stories. Understand and keep up to date on PCI software requirements and define needed software requirements in user (or system) stories. Conduct periodic, but on-going research and analyze competitor products and build a library of competitive intelligence. Define and document end to end Integration processes, both current and needed future state for appropriate systems. Research and learn/understand regulatory guidelines including Accessibility guidelines and define needed software requirements in user (or system) stories. Facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders to understand and define end to end business (and technical) processes, as needed. Lead cross-department (cross-functional) product feature ranking exercises. Formulate and present analysis results in such a way that communicates salient points. Deliverables to range from simple email to formal presentation of powerpoint deck. Writing user stories and success criteria Produce high quality "white paper" like deliverables, as needed. Support Product Managers with release activities. Conduct internal training on new business processes, as needed. Assist QA with product testing, as needed. Fill in as Product Owner/Manager, as needed

- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or related field; or equivalent training or experience in lieu of degree
