EPIC Engineer

Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Server Engineering the EPIC Engineer is responsible for enterprise level design and expert level knowledge of Brown University Health Epic client software and infrastructure components. Qualified candidate focuses on engineering solutions that encompass performance security scalability best practice automation and orchestration. Individual is responsible for performance and maintenance on all Epic client related infrastructure within Brown University Health. Individual also provides support for platform specific Infrastructure projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

The qualified candidate would be responsible for installing configuring and supporting Epic client software and infrastructure components. The Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) must have a strong Windows Server administration background and an understanding of Epic client connectivity architecture. This would include but not be limited to Hyperdrive FHIR MyChart Epic Hyperspace Web Epic Interconnect Epic FIPS servers and Kuiper.

*Resolve incidents* Track recurring incidents and identify underlying problems* Escalate problems to other I.T. teams when necessary* Develop troubleshooting documentation and incident resolution workflow* Create process documentation operations guides and low-level design diagrams* Act as an escalation point for operations teams and application analysts* Create reports and analyze reported metrics* Develop solutions and confirm functionality* Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation* Provide engineering resources to platform specific projects

Requirements:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. required

Bachelors in business computer science or related strongly preferred

3-5 years of experience required; preference toward large enterprise environments.

Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated critical thinking skills; ability to quickly comprehend issues.

It is preferred that candidates should have one of the following certifications:

Citrix*s CCA-N

Microsoft*s MCSA MCP MCTS

VMware's VCP-DCV VCP-DTM

EPIC ECSA certification
