The Syndicated Loan Transaction Specialist will coordinate between Relationship Managers, Syndications, Credit, Product Control, Finance, and other Lending Services groups to ensure smooth loan originations and closings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Act as the liaison and single point of contact with internal and external counterparts / stakeholders from deal mandate to deal closing, as well as being point of escalation during life of loan monitoring/servicing.
  • Manage deal flow pipeline with Relationship Managers and leading the interaction with Loan Operations.
  • Coordinate and review internal closing documentation with relevant stakeholders for operational feasibility, optimal execution mechanics, regulatory requirements, and mitigation of operational risk.
  • Manage the execution and process flow of the transaction, including escalation of issues and designing solutions that ensure risks are covered through adequate controls and protections.
  • Maintain metrics on deal closings / servicing and monitoring of key performance indicators.
  • Partner with relevant operations teams (closing and servicing departments) to ensure proper booking, accrual reconciliations, and daily cash positions.
  • Maintain and review terms across deal structures to ensure Valley standards are followed, track points of escalation, and act as the governance contact for non-standard provisions.
  • Review and investigate overdrafts daily, to ensure resolution of any open items prior to the Bank's cut-off time.
  • Monitor and update ticklers system for policy and document exceptions, insurance information, and financial data, to include contacting customers / CPAs / insurance companies for expired information.
  • Follow-up on outstanding documentation exceptions on new loans. Assist with ad-hoc inquiries from Borrowers, Lenders, and Arrangers pertaining to the closing process and ongoing maintenance of the deal and schedule internal calls to ensure pre-closing requirements have been met and resolve / escalate any outstanding issues.

  • Critical decision-making skills include identifying, escalating, and proposing solutions to problems with end-to-end outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate PC skills using Microsoft office applications.


Required Experience:


  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five years related loan closing/banking experience and/or training, experience in syndicated Loan operations and reviewing credit agreement documentation


Preferred Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of seven years related loan closing/banking experience and/or training.
