Position Description:


Ryerson has an opportunity for a Trailer Vertical Market Manager. This position can be based remotely anywhere in the USA and manages the Trailer manufacturing vertical market for all of Ryerson. You will be responsible for growing sales, tons, and price margin in the trailer end market, contributing positive EBITDA and EVA to all business units. The trailer market comprises light, medium, heavy-duty, and truck trailers manufacturers. The trailer vertical market manager will utilize industry expertise to develop strategic plans, develop tools and marketing information for the sales team, create supply chains, forge relationships with key players within the industry, and promote Ryerson's strategic objectives both within the company and to our customer base in the trailer industry.

Responsibilities:

* Increase revenue and profits in the trailer market
* Identify, research, and evaluate strategic opportunities for Ryerson in the trailer market
* Coordinate the sales approach with local sales management and regional/corporate entities
* Keep up to date on product information, industry trends, and other technical information as needed and communicate as appropriate
* Develop and diversify supply chains to support growth within the Trailer market
* Manage key customer relationships and interact with the highest-level decision-makers in those companies
* Track and periodically report sales results and customer deliverables both internally and externally
* Develop pricing parameters for products sold into the trailer market
* Coordinate all aspects of the quote process for contracts

Position Requirements:


* Bachelor's Degree required
* Minimum of 3 years outside sales experience with a proven record of performance in our markets and products; experience with customers in the Trailer Market is an asset
* Strong commercial skills, with a proven record of performance in our markets and products
* Strong knowledge of supply base partners and representatives
* Proficient with MS Office is required and experience with Salesforce.com (CRM tools) is desired
* Solid interpersonal and communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization
* Effective problem-solving/conflict resolution and persuasive negotiation skills
* Travel up to 50%
