About the Job

The Heroku Integration team focuses on building seamless connection points between the Salesforce platform and customers' applications on Heroku. Our mission is to enhance the capabilities of Salesforce by leveraging the elastic compute services and scalable data solutions provided by Heroku. Our work ensures that customers can seamlessly extend their Salesforce functionality, harnessing the power and flexibility of Heroku's cloud-based infrastructure. As a member of this team, you will help build the connection points that allow our customers to fully leverage their Heroku apps and databases.

Required Skills
  • 9+ years in a full-time, professional software engineering role

  • Experience developing production software in Java

  • Experience with Salesforce - APIs, metadata, integrations

  • Experience building, deploying, maintaining and operating apps and resources on the Heroku Platform

  • Experiencing building, maintaining, and enhancing RESTful APIs

  • Maintaining and operating a distributed system operating at thousands of requests per second

  • Designing, building, maintaining and operating integrations across distributed systems

  • Experience with PostgreSQL

  • Experience writing SQL queries including complex JOIN statements

  • Experience writing queries in Splunk

  • Experience deploying, operating and supporting critical production systems

  • Enthusiasm for learning new languages, frameworks, and skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams and people of various backgrounds

Desired Skills
  • Experience developing production software in Go, Javascript, Python, Ruby

  • Experience debugging HTTP request-response cycles in a distributed system

  • Experience with OpenAPI

  • Tuning SQL queries for performance

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $176,800 to $265,200. For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $160,700 to $221,000. For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $160,700 to $243,100. For Washington D.C based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $176,800 to $243,100. For Maryland based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $176,800 to $243,100. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $176,800 to $265,200. For Hawaii-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $160,700 to $221,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
