Position Description: |
Temporary Postdoctoral Research Scholar Position in Clinical Data Analytics The Department of Business Analytics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for a 100%-time postdoctoral research scholar position starting as early as January 21, 2025. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Position is temporary and includes benefits. Salary will be $61,008 to commensurate with qualifications. Appropriate background checks (e.g. criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted. The postdoctoral research scholar will work under the supervision of Prof. Nick Street and take an active role in the research environment of the award-winning Business Analytics Department. The position will mix basic machine learning research with applied work in clinical decision support (risk assessment, prognosis, treatment planning, etc.), in collaboration with scholars and clinicians in the colleges of medicine, nursing, and pharmacy. Ultimately, the person in this position will contribute to the translation of machine learning technology into improved, personalized clinical care. Application Instructions Applicants should submit:

Education Requirement: |
An earned doctorate in analytics, computer science, engineering, statistics, or other relevant field, or strong evidence that the doctoral degree conferred by January 21, 2025. |
Required Qualifications: |
Practical experience and demonstrated publication record in predictive machine learning/analytics. |
Desirable Qualifications: |
- Expertise in reinforcement learning and/or federated learning.
- Expertise in prescriptive analytics (mathematical optimization, simulation, etc.).
- Experience working with electronic health record data.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
