Early Intervention NICU Service Coordinator
Overview Identifies patients who are experiencing or are at risk for delays in development that are eligible for early intervention. The coordinator incorporates evidence-based practices and completes developmental assessments, creates IFSPs, provides developmental interventions, coordinates community referrals, provides education regarding early intervention, and demonstrates age-appropriate care to patient's birth through 2 years. Is an advocate for patients and families, and assists parents in becoming advocates for their child. Responsibilities * Identifies potential candidates for early intervention; communicates information about early childhood development to the family and staff; and gathers necessary consent and information for program enrollment. Informs families of their rights and procedural safeguards. Qualifications Education: * Early Intervention Program- Developmental Specialist Certification and Service Coordinator (or the ability to obtain certification) from the Ohio State Department of DD is required.
