About the Job

The Byersdorfer Laboratory has an opening for a highly motivated postdoctoral associate with a background in Immunology and/or cellular metabolism. This position will work under the direction of Dr. Craig Byersdorfer, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy. The appointment will have an anticipated length of up to five years and will focus on one or more areas of investigation in our lab. These areas include understanding the role of metabolic pathways in alloreactive T cells and manipulating metabolic adaptations to improve anti-cancer immune responses.

Responsibilities :

100% Laboratory Post Doc:

  • Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research.
  • Carry out and/or supervise laboratory experiments.
  • Develop experimental procedures.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Participate in preparing and presenting data to study investigators and disseminating results to professional and other audiences.
  • Author or co-author, or otherwise collaborate on reports, conference papers and publications.
  • Supervise research and other staff.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent is required with experience in cell/molecular biology or immunology.
* The candidate's prior accomplishments should demonstrate appropriate initiative and motivation.
* The incumbent should possess the ability to critically analyze data and work independently.
* Prospective applicants must have knowledge of research and experimental platforms and be able to present and discuss data in a clear and comprehensive manner, both in written and spoken communication.
* Track record should demonstrate a history of multiple publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform a wide range of highly technical and complex research duties to advance our basic and translational research programs. The preferred candidate will have experience in human immunology and/or in the study of immunology in preclinical animal models. Expertise in cellular and molecular methods, protein manipulation (immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation), advanced flow cytometry, cell sorting, and cell culture/differentiation are highly desired. The ideal candidate would also have demonstrated experience managing and leading individuals and teams.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $61,008 Minimum; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
