Sentara Health is seeking a part-time, night shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA.

Job Description:

  • Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm.

  • Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.

  • Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity.

  • Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course.

OR

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.

  • To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.

Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
