Adjunct Instructor, Crisis Communication

The M.S. in Public Relations Innovation, Strategy and Management (MSPRISM) online program at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to teach the course PRSM 545 - Crisis Communication. This course focuses on crises and their potential impacts and the importance of careful brand communication in the context of a crisis. In this course, the Adjunct Lecturer will teach students how to:

• Assess a situation to determine the need for a crisis communication response.
• Compose strategic messages for diverse stakeholders in response to a crisis situation.
• Develop a crisis communication plan to prepare for potential crises.
• Incorporate ethical considerations in the development of a crisis communication strategy.

Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching experience, particularly online teaching experience, is desirable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.

The hourly range for this position is $37.88 - $46.96. USC reserves the "Adjunct" appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
