Senior HR Communications Partner

As the Senior Human Resources Communications Partner, you will elevate HR communications, capturing the voice of PPG's chief human resources officer (CHRO), the HR leadership team and HR Function, leading a full range of executive, internal and external communications. This role will influence company-wide and functional communications through the development and execution on a wide variety of HR-related messages, programs, policies, and initiatives. As a member of PPG's corporate communications team, the incumbent will craft a narrative for the function by working across multiple HR Centers of Excellence, focused on energizing PPG people across the world and bringing to life our purpose to protect and beautify the world. In this role, you will report to the Director of Communications.

This individual must have proven experience and results in working closely with an executive and functional leadership team to capture the voice of the function, exceptional written communication skills, an ability to quickly digest complex details and craft concise, easy to understand and consume communications leveraging all formats in partnership with other members of the corporate communications team, i.e., social media, digital tools, PowerPoint, internal and external websites and emails/newsletters, podcasts/videos. The successful candidate will have proven experience in successfully engaging with executive team and functional leader. They will have demonstrated success in being proactive, able to anticipate, be a strategic thinker with strong attention to detail, work well under pressure and organize multiple projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate can show how they have elevated a function or business as part of previous experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CHRO and HR leadership team to capture tone, voice and ensure strategic communication objectives are met.

  • Lead the elevation of HR communications, and refinement, execution, and measurement of the HR Communications strategy.

  • Develop a comprehensive communication strategy to manage the various aspects of HR comms in a consumable, targeted and cadenced approach.

  • Collaborate with and mentor HR functional teams to support the most critical messaging and appropriate communication methods.

  • Balance between strategic counsel and planning, and executing everyday activities (writing, distributing messages, etc.)

  • Align HR communication strategy/messaging within the broader corporate communications strategy for consistent voice and tone, as coordinated scheduling.

  • Increase employee trust through the development and coordination of a robust communications program crafted to establish a compelling workplace story to promote and advance the company globally.

  • Manage the HR cadence of communications based on annual processes, while accounting for campaign-based and ad hoc content, as well.

  • Coordinate and consolidate all communications from HR to a variety of diverse audiences, leveraging the appropriate channel(s) for information to be received and acted upon.

  • Collaborate closely with the broader Corporate Communications team, to build a coordinated and consistent voice for the company.

  • Ensure cadence of reporting and analysis of key metrics to ensure a data-driven approach to communications.

  • Use technology to improve our communications and amplify messaging to key stakeholders.

  • Provide crisis communications support on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in journalism, public relations, communications, human resources management, marketing, or related field

  • 10+ years planning, developing, and executing communications. Experience with board-ready presentation materials is a plus.

  • Proven experience in message development and communications strategy development and execution.

  • Demonstrated change management experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) required.

  • Proficiency in graphic design skills.

  • Proficiency in social media and experience with content development for Intranet sites required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills, including speeches, presentations (visuals and graphic design), talking points, internal company communications, etc. (candidates will be required to share writing samples).
