Inova Mount Vernon is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Emergency Department. This role will be full-time mid-shift from Monday - Friday 11:00 am - 11:30 pm, with a rotating weekend. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for qualified candidates. An Inova Licensed Practical Nurse:
- Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
- Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
- Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborates with materials management to ensure appropriate stock and minimize outdated stock.
- Administers prescribed medications, therapies, and treatments.
- Assists with patient education and discharge planning.
- Demonstrates correct stabilization and immobilization of spine.
- Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN school
- One year of ED LPN experience preferred
- Eligible for licensing in the commonwealth of Virginia as an LPN
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
