Part-Time Research Programmer/Analyst - Entertainment Technology Center

The ETC is the premiere professional graduate program for interactive entertainment as it's applied across various fields. Our unique, two-year Master of Entertainment Technology (MET) degree was founded as a joint venture between Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science and the College of Fine Arts.

We are currently searching for a part time Research Programmer/Analyst to join the ETC team. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. This position is responsible for assisting with developing code for the Unity game engine for use with a multi-player CAVE system, and such other tasks as assigned to you.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing software applications and database specifications (often in a team setting) or modifies existing software packages to meet specific research needs.

  • Maintaining existing applications, correcting systems bugs, writing system enhancements, performing table/code maintenance, and testing system upgrades.

  • Attending required meetings and participating in various seminars and training classes to maintain or update skills needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 1-3 years of research computing experience

  • C++ and C# coding skills required.

  • Experience with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity) required.

  • In depth knowledge of real-time graphic systems and API's is required.

    • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Additional Information:

  • Work Posture: This position is fully on campus and cannot be done virtually.

  • Fixed Term: This is a fixed-term position with an estimated duration of 3 months.
