Job Summary:

The Associate Specialist - Pipeline Scheduler is an entry-level role for individuals starting their careers in the energy industry. This position supports the scheduling of refined products on Energy Transfer Pipelines, focusing on learning operations, building stakeholder relationships, and contributing to the efficiency of pipeline activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



    • Assist in scheduling refined products on Energy Transfer Refined Product Pipelines to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
    • Support the monitoring of pipeline capacity, flow rates, and product inventory levels, identifying and reporting potential issues.
    • Coordinate with shippers, suppliers, and terminal operators to maintain the seamless flow of products.
    • Work alongside senior schedulers, operations coordinators, pipeline controllers, and engineers to gain hands-on experience in pipeline operations.
    • Assist in preparing system updates, operational reports, and communicating key insights to internal teams.
    • Provide entry-level analytical support to contribute to process improvements and business objectives.
    • Be flexible in addressing scheduling challenges or pipeline interruptions under supervision.


    Requirements:

    Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:


    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related disciplines).
    • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or entry-level roles in energy, logistics, or supply chain preferred).
    • Strong interest in the energy industry and a desire to learn pipeline operations and scheduling processes.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Experience in pipeline operations, logistics, or scheduling through internships or entry-level positions.
    • Familiarity with Transport 4 systems or scheduling tools (a plus, but not required).
    • Exposure to energy markets, logistics, or supply chain processes.

      Working Conditions:

      The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


      • Usually, normal office working conditions.
      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
      • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
      • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
