Overview of position:
Responsible for applying a layer or layers of paint or coating to a product to protect it from the elements and/or make it more aesthetically appealing. Prepares surfaces, cleans, product, and applies coating. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Apply primers and mix paints per specifications, repair and maintain paint equipment, understand and apply work order instructions, maintain statistical process control data and use of paint thickness measuring equipment. * Ability to meet production and quality requirements, participate in team meetings and continuous improvement projects and other duties assigned by team / supervisor. * Clean and service spray guns, paint tanks, brushes, hoses and related equipment after using. * Perform touchup and pickup painting, both spray and brush, per inspection requirements. * Prepare surfaces to assure proper adhesion and/or perform any hand or power finishing of painted surfaces. * Prepare to proper consistency various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, etc. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail and mathematical skills; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; ability to interpret and apply technical data relating to position; ability to safely operate applicable equipment; ability to work with minimal supervision. * Ability to wear respirator and pass annual PFT * use paint thickness measuring equipment * perform maintenance of paint equipment * Proven Ability to mix paint per specification * work in a team environment with positive results and to meet production and quality requirements with minimum supervision. Education and Experience Requirements:
* High School diploma or equivalent preferred. * Two (2) years' experience preferred. * MRO environment - welcomed Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. * Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and balancing. * Requires occasional reaching above shoulder level, kneeling or squatting. * Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. * Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. * Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. * Regularly required to use hands and fingers. * Works in moderate noise levels. Protective Equipment Required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, respirators, breathing equipment per safety data sheet which will be provided by company. |
