MAINTENANCE HELPER

MIM is the top attraction in Arizona, a one-of-a-kind immersive experience and industry leader using specialized technology to elevate the guest experience. In addition to its galleries, MIM has an acoustically superb theater, concert series, museum store, and award-winning cafe.

This position will assist with the maintenance and repair of the Museum properties, as well as set up and breakdown of events. Successful candidate should have mechanical ability and a desire to learn. This position is full-time, with varying hours dependent on the events schedule.

(8-10 Hr Shifts)

Specific duties include:

• Support special events, setups/tear downs.
• Be observant for any miscellaneous repairs needed to keep up MIM brand.
• Assist with work requests as required and handle other miscellaneous repairs.
• Provide support for moves of personnel and collections within the building.
• Perform domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance as required.
• Maintain all electrical, mechanical, and maintenance shop areas for cleanliness.
• Perform dock receiving and mailroom duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years' experience in trades or facilities operations a plus.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of museum staff and vendors.
• Valid driver license (insurable).
• Ability to lift up to 50-60 pounds.
• Able to work from a ladder and reach overhead while adhering to applicable safety practices.
• Ability to smell smoke and other chemicals.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, as needed.
• Must be able to work in heat or cold and outdoors.

The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills, and the ability to plan and think critically when completing tasks.
