Job Summary

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing the control of the budget / organization resources. Manages the activities of the financial / resource analyst staff. Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $105,900 - $225,900 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

This position will oversee the Supply and Distribution department as well as the Supply Chain Analysts associated with Supply and Distribution, Receiving and transport.

  • Participation in applicable specialty committees to represent Supply Chain and Materials Support Services.
  • Participation in Product Evaluation Committees. Assesses cost impact and service implications Materials Support Services related to new products, equipment and/or conversion presented by various UCSF departments
  • Responsibility for overall payroll process, time and attendance tracking and performance evaluations for Materials Support Services.
  • Ensures department operates in compliance with the standards set by TJC, California State Department of Health, and any applicable policies by University of California, Office of the President.
  • Annual physical inventory planning, coordination and reporting.
  • Responsible for coordinating special projects related to Materials Support Services as presented. Negotiates a reasonable action plan with customers and vendors to achieve expected results

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise using proven negotiation methods; and the ability to critically analyze a negotiation. Demonstrated ability to lead and advise cross-organization workgroups. Demonstrated experience with cost modeling and related financial analyses. Proven customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate work with others, both internally and externally, to accomplish tasks. Strong knowledge of sourcing policies, practices and state-of-the-art electronic sourcing systems. Demonstrated organization skills, including meeting facilitation and decision making. Proven verbal and written communication skills, listening, critical thinking and analytical skills. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
