Human Research Protections Assistant Requisition ID: 2024-8608 # of Openings: 1 Location: US-UT-Logan Category: Research (non-Faculty) Position Type: Non-benefited (hourly) Part-Time Job Classification: Non-Benefited College: Research Department: Institutional Review Board Advertised Salary: $15 per hour Overview The Human Research Protections (HRP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) Assistants are integral to the smooth functioning of Utah State University's Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). The IRB is responsible for ensuring that all research conducted by Utah State University faculty, staff, and students which involves human subjects is conducted ethically, in line with legal requirements, and with strong protections in place for research participants. Accordingly, all research with human participants is submitted for review in line with the Belmont Report principles of Justice, Beneficence, and Respect for Persons. The HRP Office and IRB seeks a detail-oriented, organized, and energetic candidate to support its office manager and other staff, and many of the office's routine tasks. This is a part-time, non-benefited hourly wage position, with a strong preference for students who quality for Work Study. The Office of Research provides research administration services year-round, and as such, seeks candidates who can commit to working during the entirety of the calendar year, as opposed to solely the academic year. This position is not telework eligible. Candidates will be asked to supply references if they proceed beyond the initial round of review. Responsibilities
