Open-rank Teaching Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistical Sciences

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Florida International University invites applications for two open-rank Teaching Professor positions. One position will be based primarily at the Biscayne Bay Campus and the other position will be based primarily at the Modesto Maidique Campus. These are 9-month, non-tenure track positions starting August 2025. A masters degree in mathematics or closely related discipline is required.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach a variety of first year and introductory mathematics courses, including those for non-science majors, using evidence-based instructional practices. Teaching assignments may include teaching hybrid or fully online courses. Job responsibilities are teaching and service; these include teaching four courses (12 credits) per semester and providing service to the department, college, and university.

Demonstrated experience in first-year mathematics courses at the university level is required with preference for candidates with experience or training in using evidence-based active learning-focused classroom practices.
