Position Overview
The Application Administrator Sr. coordinates administration of Windows based services, including applications and web sites housed on servers maintained by Systems Administration. This position works as part of a team in Application Administration to provide user-focused application support for campus wide and IT specific services. This position works closely with Systems Administration, KU Libraries, and vendor support staff to provide these services. This position participates in a 24/7 on call rotation.

Job Description 50% - Support a variety of networked applications and services offered on site and remotely through a Windows server-based environment.
20% - Coordinate systems administration responsibilities for Windows Enterprise servers with IT Systems Administration and serve as systems administrator for desktop workstations as assigned.
5% - Work with Web Coordinator to create and manage web space, modify rights and control viewing privileges for KU Library web sites. 5% - Assess need for new hardware and software and make recommendations for purchase. 5% - Assess need for upgrade of current software applications and make recommendations for implementation. 5% - Create custom programming and batch script files to automate routine processes and facilitate maintenance of servers and applications.
