Acara Solutions is looking for a Material Engineer for one of our Solar Manufacturing clients.
Here is what you will get:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000 to $95,000/yr
Expected hours: 40 per week
Shift: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

The scope of work:
1. Participate in the formulation and implementation of the company's technical management regulations.
2. Participate in the development and execution of technical and business work related to new materials and processes, ensuring timely introduction of new materials and the performance of various materials used to meet the product requirements provided to clients, production and customer requirements.
3. Actively promote the establishment, launch and implementation of new technology and new material related cost reduction projects, and reduce the BOM cost.
4. Assist the supervisor in training and guiding new employees to improve their work skills.
Major responsibilities
1 Development of new materials and processes
  1. Responsible for the development and import of new technologies and materials, including project proposal formulation, material safety and environmental requirements, project implementation, and summary reports.
  2. Assist in proposing technological innovation projects and organizing their implementation based on the company's situation and domestic and foreign technological development.
  3. Responsible for conducting research on new technologies and materials, regularly outputting research and analysis reports, and importing and mass producing advantageous research materials.
  4. Proactively improve and optimize existing materials, prevent and improve production line anomalies, propose reasonable suggestions, and continuously optimize and improve work.
2 Establishment of technical standards:
  1. Establish new material technology standards and continuously promote standard optimization and upgrading based on actual situations.
  2. Analysis of reliability testing methods and material development trends for new technologies and materials.
3 Anomalies handling:
  1. Assist in handling material anomalies reported by production lines or customers in a timely manner, and provide professional solutions..
  2. Assist the production line and operation planning department in evaluating and revising standards for stagnant and abnormal materials in the company's production line.
4 Technical Support for Orders
  1. Responsible for providing technical evaluation of materials and technical items involved in bidding, contract, and order review.
5 Reduce costs and improve efficiency & innovation
  1. Responsible for improving and optimizing existing materials/products, improving production line technology, proposing reasonable suggestions, continuously optimizing, improving, and achieving improvement and innovation targets.
  2. Responsible for initiating, implementing, and closing cost reduction projects related to new technologies and materials, and reducing BOM cost.
  3. Responsible for improving product power, reducing power losses by optimizing product design, developing and importing efficient materials.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  1. Educational background: Bachelor's degree or above. Major in materials, physics, optical information, semiconductors, etc.
  2. Certification: Intermediate engineer or above. Other relevant certificates are preferred.
  3. Knowledge and experience: Familiar with the process of technology improvement and innovation, and the process of new technology introduction and promotion. Able to independently lead a team to propose and solve technical problems and carry out technological innovation.
  4. Skills: Good written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Office software, especially PPT.
  5. Possess certain analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in English is preferred.
