Our Mission: Our Vision: Position Summary: An Assistant Professor is a faculty member who has completed a terminal degree, proven expertise in area of teaching. Assistant Professors must have or demonstrate competence in facilitating learning, in scholarship, and in service, or any combination of those activities. When circumstances warrant, faculty who hold academic appointments with other universities may be hired temporarily at the rank of Assistant Professor. Faculty hired into these ranks meet the qualifications of faculty at their rank, but they are not on a track that may lead to a rolling contract. Looking for expertise in the following areas: 1. Applied Anatomy 2. Applied Neuroscience and Behavior 3. Research/Evidence Based Practice 4. Pediatrics 5. Psychosocial Practice 6. Adult Practice/Older Adult Practice 7. Clinical Skills (including Hand Therapy and Modalities) 8. Management & Supervision, legislation for OT Starting Salary:$85,000 - $95,000 annualized depending on experience. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Documented current expertise in assigned areas of teaching responsibility. Adequate years of experience in the areas involved in assignments; documented potential in the areas of facilitating learning, scholarship, and service, as applicable to assignments; and if appropriate, a record of meritorious performance of the duties and obligations of an instructor. Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of California; or eligible to be licensed in the State of California; NBCOT Certified. Skills: * Proficient computer skills. * The ability to work independently and be self-motivated. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. * The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms. * The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines. * The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide students toward task completion. * Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with students and University employees. * Culturally competent and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and/or experiences. * Highly motivated, focused and results oriented. * Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, and to maintain confidentiality. * Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support candidate success. * Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. * Scholarship - Scholarship/ research reflecting the generation, integration, dissemination and application of knowledge, as well as creative and original contributions to one's field commensurate with academic rank. * Service - All faculty engage in service to the University, Community and Profession commensurate with academic rank. Examples in each category include: Service to the University: Hiring and evaluating faculty Participating in developing, revising, and coordinating curriculum as well as:

Duties Required of All Faculty - Certain duties are additionally required of all faculty and are not given formal workload credit but will be included in yearly evaluations. These include but are not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibility: Direct Reports: Teaching or Research Assistant, when assigned. Indirect Reports: None. Contact Responsibility: Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position with work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (i.e. Admissions, Student Advising, Registrar, etc.) to support both students and colleagues in achieving student success and Department goals. External: Interacts with prospective students, to provide advice and support. Interacts with accrediting and regulatory agencies as required. Primary Work Location, Hours & Travel Requirements: Office Location: On Campus or Remote (depending upon how classes offered). Work Hours: Standard office hours, occasional evenings or weekends may be required depending upon course schedule. Travel: None.
