Your Role

At Atlas Copco, we believe that passionate people create exceptional things. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role involves ensuring schedule adherence to meet customer needs, managing pre- and post-performance metrics, monitoring quality and efficiency, and tracking cash flow. As the primary point of contact for customers, you will handle all commercial matters, including negotiating change orders, resolving back charges and warranty claims, and maintaining clear communication on project schedules. As part of the Aftermarket team, you will report to the Aftermarket Manager and work closely with other Project Managers, Engineering, and Manufacturing. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.

As an Aftermarket Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

Commercial Ownership



  • You will be responsible for all commercial aspects of assigned projects, from order initiation to shipment, installation, or warranty completion.
  • You will ensure a seamless process and maintain clear communication routes for the customer throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You will conduct continuous check-ins with the customer to address their needs and follow up on open actions.
  • You will review customer purchase orders thoroughly before acknowledging the order.
  • You will serve as the key contact for all commercial correspondence, fostering strong and professional customer relationships.


Strong Communication (Internal and External)



  • You will communicate customer needs effectively to the project team and across the organization, ensuring alignment and understanding.
  • You will influence others without direct authority to drive progress on site activities with urgency and focus.
  • You will establish bi-weekly formal reports for each customer, providing updates on all commercial items and sharing open technical information in collaboration with Technical Support.
  • You will adjust communication and follow-up strategies as needed to address urgent situations, coordinating efforts within and outside the organization to meet customer and project demands.


Financial Oversight



  • You will maintain continuous cost control of orders by monitoring budgeted costs versus actual expenses.
  • You will coordinate with customers on the management and resolution of financial claims.
  • You will review and approve key vendor final invoices before payment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • You will maintain awareness of quality and efficiency (QE) issues, mitigating risks and recovering costs from vendors, customers, or other stakeholders as necessary.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • You will be available after hours to address and support commercial claims as needed.
  • You will travel to respond to immediate customer needs or conduct proactive visits to gather feedback and strengthen relationships.
  • You will collaborate closely with commissioning teams and primary contacts, proactively seeking feedback and identifying opportunities for alignment and continuous improvement.





To succeed, you will need



  • You hold a bachelor's degree or have equivalent work experience.
  • You have at least 5 years of Project Management experience or equivalent experience.
  • You have excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS-Project experience is preferred.
  • You have a professional approach with a sense of urgency and strong communication skills.
  • You have a customer service approach.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
