About The Role:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports the creation and implementation of sourcing strategies to improve service and cost efficiency, while maintaining the quality of critical sterile barrier packaging materials. This role works closely with divisional stakeholders to ensure alignment on optimal sourcing strategies and collaborates with a cross-functional category team of supplier quality and supplier engineering partners to meet category objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement in line with Boston Scientific's quality policy, quality system, and relevant regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Assisting with the development and execution of category strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage for Boston Scientific
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners to define technology roadmaps that align with long-term product and patient needs
  • Supporting supplier selection recommendations to align with category strategies
  • Assist with supplier negotiations, contracts, business reviews and on-site assessments that align with category expectations and deliver the best outcomes for Boston Scientific
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build and execute a pipeline of Value Improvement Projects related to quality, service and cost
  • Gathering and analyzing market intelligence to identify and report on supplier capabilities, trends, opportunities and risks
  • Supporting business process improvement projects


Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Some experience with sourcing, supply chain management, or supplier relationship management
  • Experience with MS Office Excel and other applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, MS Project etc.)
  • Ability to travel globally up to 10%


Preferred qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering or business administration
  • Minimum 1 year of experience sourcing for packaging materials
  • Experience working in medical device or similar regulated industry
  • Ability to develop effective decision-making and negotiation skills to influence internal and external teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills: process and results-oriented
  • Organized and detail oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks effectively
