Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Evaluation Specialist: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Evaluation Specialist Responsibilities Include:



  • Identifies the science base that underlies strategies by conducting evidence reviews.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to national, state, local and tribal health agencies and to various other organizations around evaluation capacity and programmatic improvement.
  • Supports data analysis work and develop specific programmatic improvement recommendations for programs and organizations.
  • Plans and acts as meeting facilitator for CDC planning sessions, partner meetings, CDC leadership meetings, and leadership briefings.
  • Identifies best and promising practices through partner interviews, data collection, and literature reviews.
  • Develops dissemination products such as overviews, reports, or guidance documents, and disseminate findings to partners.
  • Develops presentations and/or coordinates speakers for key meetings and writes success stories.
  • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data and synthesize results.
  • Provides evaluation technical assistance to CDC partners.
  • Develops guides, manuals or technical reports for partners and public health practitioners that translate the known science to facilitate the adoption of identified strategies.
  • Presents project updates/summaries at CDC briefings, or presentations to CDC staff.
  • Responsible for timely completion of deliverables to meet the needs of the client.
  • Work independently and perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Evaluation Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Advanced degree in a field related to health/allied sciences and 3+ yrs. of documented experience in public health, health sciences research, and/or program evaluation and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to addressing health disparities, social determinants of health, and advancing health equity within the tasks performed and deliverables produced.
  • Skill in administering survey, conducting focus groups, and meeting facilitation.
  • Ability to performance quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience providing technical assistance is preferred.
  • Competency to perform non-routine and complex assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Previous experience supporting CDC or equivalent federal agency preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
