About the Role

Are you a dynamic sales leader ready to make a significant impact? As the Outside Field Sales Director, you'll take the helm in driving sales success across multiple regions while embracing the excitement of extensive travel. In this role, you'll manage and inspire a team of sales and marketing professionals to achieve ambitious revenue and growth targets, often being on the road-up to 100% of the time-to make it happen.

Your role goes beyond leadership-you'll actively engage in the field, leveraging your expertise to close deals while guiding your team toward success. With an established account base and the opportunity to shape sales strategies, you'll play a crucial role in cultivating strong relationships with customers, manufacturers' representatives, and suppliers. Your creativity and ability to develop innovative solutions will be key in delivering results and enhancing customer profitability.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the Sales Department's resources and personnel to obtain maximum benefit.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate Sales Department plans to promote the success of sales programs and maintain current requirements.
  • Formulate and recommend plans, policies, goals, and objectives for the organization's sales activities to expand market share in existing markets and capture new markets.
  • Develop and execute both short- and long-range sales plans and programs in conjunction with Senior Management to ensure profitability and growth of the company's products.
  • Foster a culture of Servant Leadership by prioritizing the growth and well-being of team members, empowering them to achieve their best.
  • Champion DEI initiatives within the sales team, ensuring diverse perspectives are valued and included in decision-making processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and problem-solver.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in sales strategies.
  • Lead regular training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team, focusing on ethical selling practices and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible sales experience in the computer distribution industry, with a strong emphasis on field sales and travel.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred in Marketing or Business.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
  • Strong understanding of Servant Leadership principles, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and promotes equity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members alike.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of making data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs, demonstrating resilience and flexibility.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing talent within the sales team, helping individuals reach their full potential.
