Are you passionate about cutting-edge research at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and medicine? We're seeking a talented Scientist to join our dynamic team! Our mission is to develop novel PET imaging agents for widely metastatic cancers and to develop novel radioligand therapies for such cancers, and test them in cellular and animal models. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and have a keen interest in both imaging and treatment of cancer, this role is perfect for you! A Research Associate position is available in Theranostics Laboratory at Division of Nuclear Medicine/Dept. of Radiology of Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa. The Theranostics laboratory studies developing new PET probes for management of advanced malignancies and novel radio-ligand therapies for cancer. We are particularly interested in the preclinical development of new PET probes that can aid in detecting therapy resistance of various tumor lesions in a patient and new approaches for targeted radioligand therapy. A successful candidate should have a Ph.D., and/or M.D./Pharm.D. in the Biomedical Sciences (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) and a good publication record preferably in cancer research. Prior experience in molecular biology, molecular imaging or caner pharmacology with particular emphasis on cell culture, animal models, and/or cancer molecular imaging is desirable. Interested candidates should submit their CV together with a brief research statement and the contact information of three references to Ahmad Shariftabrizi M.D.; Email: ashariftabrizi@uiowa.edu.
