SEASONAL Summer Recreation Coordinator

The Summer Recreation Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the organization and implementation of programing created by the Recreation Supervisor and Superintendent of Recreation. This position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor. Position is a seasonal part-time job. Evaluation will determine rehiring.

• Pay starting at $20.50 per hour with additional compensation considered based on education and/or experience.
• The schedule is 30-40 hours per week throughout the summer (approximately May through August)

Examples of Work (Essential Duties):

• Coordinate staffing schedules
• Organization and retrieval of supply requests made by playground and sport staff
• Respond and assist to participant behavior and experience issues
• Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving
• Insure facilities are kept clean and well maintained at all times
• Assist in supervision and facilitation of youth/adult evening programs
• The schedule is 30-40 hours per week throughout the summer (approximately May through August)

• Minimum age, 21 years old
• Previous supervisory experience
• Strong background in behavior management
• Leadership and public relations skills
• High level of creativity, initiative, and decision making skills
• Ability to lead positively with a team player attitude
• Ability to convey detail or instructions to other employees and the general public
• Ability to work with varied age groups
• Ability to work independently
• Self-motivated
