THE POSITION

1. Purpose of the Job

As the Mechanic I for World Fuel Services, you will be responsible for maintaining service work on all company vehicles. This role must schedule and perform tank-testing jobs, keeping in compliance. The Mechanic is also responsible for working on meters, performance maintenance on trucks, and other various tasks around the shop.

2. Principal Responsibilities

  • Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
  • Consult with clients to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems.
  • Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues.
  • Keep an accurate log of all work performed.
  • Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition.
  • Adhere to company work safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Schedule and perform tank tests.
  • Work on various meters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

5. Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements

Within the assigned regional location, Local Trips, trips for support to Shops, and Vendors within their respective Region.

Travel Frequency is Low, some nights out as and when needed will be required.

  • Complete Preventative Maintenance and Repairs in timely manner and operate within Budget
  • Ensuring efficient Prevention Maintenance utilization and performance
  • Implementing Safety procedures and Initiatives
  • Safety performance of the Fleet within the Region

THE CANDIDATE

Education Required

  • High School or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 year of Fleet Maintenance experience.

2. Work Experience Required

5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with mechanical and/or Fleet Maintenance support and service.

Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required

  • Mechanical and Vehicle Maintenance Skills
  • Conduct Vehicle DVIR Review, Procedures and Safety Inspections
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
  • Transport, Tank Wagon, Vehicle, Technical expertise.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and Teams; and PlanetFM.
  • Class A or Class B CDL, Hazmat, Tanker, and Tank Testing permits Endorsements preferred.

5. Language Requirements

English - Excellent Spoken & Written

Spanish - Spoken, a plus.
