THE JOB:

The Event Manager oversees the project management of events including casino marketing, sponsorship activations and other events at the property level, as well as supports event directors in project management for cross-property and corporate events. The event manager is a crucial team member who has great flexibility and enthusiasm for a wide variety of projects and events across a number of different environments both inside and outside of MGM resorts. You will play a vital role in our mission to own the guest's experience and create WOW memories that they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Creative Project Management: Act as an open-minded and solution-focused project manager throughout all phases of event planning, including planning, execution, and reconciliation. Organize production meetings and schedules to effectively coordinate and monitor progress on essential elements such as invitations, decor, audiovisual needs, convention setup, staffing, safety, gaming compliance, and overall setup and teardown
• Liaison and Account Management: Serve as the primary contact for the management team, staff, vendors, guests, and various departments, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to event transactions
• On-Site Event Management: Oversee events to ensure timely execution and address any challenges, upholding the high standards of MGM Resorts International. This role includes supervising on-call event staff to ensure successful program execution, both within MGM properties and externally, while delivering exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
• Financial Oversight and Budget Management: Manage the financial aspects and daily budgets for assigned events, projecting and tracking expenses while analyzing overall outcomes
• Collaboration with Event Design Teams: Work closely with event design teams to deliver best-in-class service offerings and options for both internal and external clients. Understand the creative solutions required for effective project management, while emphasizing the importance of clear roles among creative partners
• Support for Strategic Initiatives: Assist in driving strategic initiatives and identifying innovative opportunities for new internal and external clients through the Event Productions Center of Excellence (CoE), in alignment with the goals of MGM Resorts, Casino Marketing, and all other stakeholders

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Nevada State Gaming Registration
• Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
• Two (2) years of previous events experience in a resort style environment
• Experience with Casino Events and working with Sponsors
• Significant experience in providing detailed, on-site judgement
• Flexible and adaptable working style
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy work environment
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
