JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing performance of manufacturing assets utilizing reliability excellence principles. This position will work closely with the Maintenance and Operations departments to develop, implement, and monitor the site reliability strategies with appropriate leading and lagging metrics. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure the vertical startup of new capital systems, establish a strong reliability plan for the sustainability of the investment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Owns, populates, updates and approves all changes in CMMS Master Data.
  • Leads efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, packaging, utilities, facilities, controls and EHS/security systems where applicable.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an asset maintenance plan including value-added preventive maintenance tasks and effective utilization of predictive/other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
  • Provides technical support to production, packaging engineering, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  • Manages project startups with respect to reliability aspects of the project.
  • Drives the establishment, management, and optimization of maintenance plans by using FMEA, RCM, RCA, application of TPM AM/PM, etc.
  • Responsible for applying Failure Mode Technique by means of: Failure Finding Interval (FFI) and Redundancy calculations and determine P-F interval.
  • Development, deployment, and sustainability of reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, back log, etc.
  • Drives appropriate solutions (engineering, administrative, other) to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations and supports improvements to Safety, Quality, Service, Performance and People.
  • Understanding of basic probability and statistical tools to analyze equipment life cycle.
  • Applies knowledge of department policies/procedures and utilizes a general understanding of other department's functions while maintaining strict confidentiality and paying strict attention to detail.
  • Adheres to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Security, and Team Member Safety.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum level of education required

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering. Reliability, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) Required

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience

  • 5 years of maintenance leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years in a TPM Environment preferred

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)

  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with a broad spectrum of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Experience demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.
  • Strong understanding of statistical tools and data analytics.
  • Experience utilizing SAP PM module or equivalent PM system.
  • Must have good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.

Position requires prolonged sitting at computer, visual concentration, and ability to lift and carry supplies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Both office and factory floor environment. Factory floor could include climbing stairs, cold and hot environments, standing for periods, wearing PPE, and other elements within the factory. Could include off shift hours at times as well.
